Community AIDS Network (CAN) Hurricane Irma Update and Call To Action
Sarasota, Florida (September 13, 2017) – In the wake of Hurricane Irma, the Community AIDS Network (CAN) announces the following Comprehensive Care Clinics have reopened in Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Ybor City (Tampa), Clearwater, Daytona, Jacksonville and North Miami.
The North Port clinic is closed due to no power.
Despite the ongoing aftermath of Hurricane Irma, Community AIDS Network is ready to assist. CAN has 26 clinics statewide to offer STD medical services (including rapid testing and PreP), case management, peer navigation counseling, dental services (Sarasota) and mental health counseling (Sarasota) to those patients in need where clinics are in operation. Also, CAN partners with a network of other physicians- HIV Providers throughout Florida as well as a disperse network of Specialty Pharmacies throughout the state.
